The modification requires the installation of Piper Cherokee aluminum
structural channels and angles that rivet into place. The new windows may be
cut from sheet Plexiglas or purchased. The window is held into place by
interior trim angles which screw in place. On some models without a baggage
compartment the windows are installed aft of the cabin divider. In this
case, curtains may be added to enhance the appearance. On Piper Cherokee models with a
baggage compartment the windows install forward of the cabin divider and
provide improved visibility and appearance. In either case the airplane
appears to be much newer and more expensive.
The labor time for installation is approximately six to
eight hours. This should be installed by an experienced sheet metal
mechanic.
